Iker is a London based figurative artist and the Founding Director of The
Vyner Studio. His work is noted for its bold outline drawings and the use of

In 2000 Iker began to study fine art at Facultad de Bellas Artes of Leioa U.P.V.
in Bilbao. Grandson of landscape painter, Marcelino Garcia Asiain and
goldsmith Joxe Mari Barrenetxea, he was encouraged to be an artist since he
was a kid. He was a child that loved drawing however he did not discover his
passion for painting until his second year at university.
Iker lives and works in London since 2000. He has exhibited his art in
London, Barcelona, Madrid and San Sebastian.
His first show in London took place at Goodge Bar in West London
showcasing large scale colourful paintings and t-shirts with his drawings. His
t-shirt designs were sold at Spitalfields Market in East London during 2003.
He has been commissioned to produce art for Do the Green Thing and
Corona Save the Beach campaigns. In 2005 musician Miguel Marin aka Arbol
composed a series of different musics for Inside Out project.
Since 2010 he combines his artist practice with directing The Vyner Studio.
In 2011 he presented Olympic Gasholders Project, a commissioned proposal
for dressing London for the Olympic Games. This mayor project was
presented at City Hall in partnership with Dan Ptzatek, managing director of a
leading structure engineering company that would back up his original idea:
a giant installation of light and colour displaying sportive silhouettes on a
different canvas: an old Victorian gas holder would serve as the frame for LED
screens displaying the art and illuminating the city while integrating a
massive scale ring into the city due to the oval shaped coincidence.
